I visited Daffodil & Desserts and I got the Panini Florentine and I thought is was delicious! My favorite milkshake is the Chunky Monkey Chocolate Shake The owner was very nice and helpful and considerate and the prices are worth the sizes of the sandwich and etc... There are plenty of items that I'm sure people's taste buds will be happy to have not everyone out there are haters there's angels and good people out there so if you like desserts, coffee, sandwiches, soup I highly recommend you stop in if your hungry. Who doesn't love an extra serving of meat on there sandwich I have never complained about that. Hey take it home for later you can have another sandwich later. Why criticize a restaurant for giving you an ample amount of meat.
This is hard times with our economy now days and starting a business takes a lot of hard work
First: employees working a bakery establishment are required to wear hair nets. If you look at the bakers at Kroger you will see that to be the case, as well as at Ukrops and Food Lion.Would you like hair with your cupcakes? The hair net is a health dept. standard. Let me respond to some of the other hate you generated in your bogus blog or as I call it your blog of revenge.
The desserts are great at Daffodil Desserts. The sandwiches are great too.
You got a sandwich with a lot of meat on it. Well count your blessings. In these hard economic times, it is really great to hear that not all restaurants are skimping on the meat. What you could have done was just take some of it off and make another sandwich. Or better yet share it with a friend. If you really think the frozen desserts at the local supermarkets that are purchased frozen from companies that make them from chemically filled mixes is great, then you have no sense of food at all. I have had the desserts at Kroger and Food Lion that you so raved about and I have to tell you that I taste a lot of chemicals in them. You see they buy them from other companies and they are frozen and made with palm oil and cottonseed oil (i.e. heart attack in teh making0 Daffodils makes their desserts and cakes from scratch right there with real buttercream. How can you not like that!! Daffodil is a refreshing addition to Richmond.
Have you ever heard of on the job training. Maybe ( and I know that he was) the guy making your sandwich was a trainee. So there is nothing wrong with her giving him instructions while he makes the sandwich. Have you ever worked in food service? I have and I want you to know the turnover in restaurants is high. Most are constantly hiring and firing or having staff to leave. You see they are low paying jobs unless you are a bartender or serve alcoholic drinks. The turnover is high and you have to constantly train new staff. That is the nature of the restaurant business and it does not make it any better that the labor pool in Richmond has such slim pickings. The hard work ethic is no longer there with young people and many restaurants struggle with this. I have worked in restaurants were we took people to training and showed them how to do things and they would then not be able to remember anything when they got back to the restaurant and had to put it into action. Once I taught a guy at another restaurant how to make two sandwiches and told him that was all that he had to do- make 2 darn sandwiches. Well after training him to make them, I still had to stand over him and show him how to do it because he and others like him do not care what they serve to customers and I finally had to let him go because he could not learn two sandwiches. So I think you should be happy that Daffodil's cares to watch and make sure the staff makes things right.
I have gone to a lot of restaurants at 11 am, 11:15 am and 11:30 am and they have been empty. A new business needs time to build clientele. This does not happen overnight. Give the business time. I have also gone to Red Robin and Applesbees on certain days lately and they too have been empty-its the economy "stupid"
I ordered a cake from Daffodil and it was great. I took a Wilton book to them and asked them to make the cake in that book for me. So to diss them for making the cake I wanted was just rude and ugly. I also have a friend who purchased a cake from Daffodil with the shape of a baby's bottom on it. It looked great that certainly was not a Wiltonesque cake.
Janet when I look at your post, I see a lot of hate and vindictiveness in it and it made me wonder why. So I took a trip back to Daffodils Desserts and talked with the manager. She told me about her experience with Clear Channel radio advertising and how you worked there and was fired after Daffodil and other companies cancelled their advertising and the lite 98 advertising revenue was down. Well I hate to tell you one company did not cause Lite 98 or Clear Channel radio to have to fire you or lay you off any one off due to declining advertising revenue. It takes several companies to cause your advertising to decline such that people are laid off. So you really have not right to be dissing on her and trying to destroy her company because you lost your job. Why not spend this energy looking for another job?
I also asked her why she cancelled and she said it was because the advertising did not work. She said she spent $4000 advertising with Lite 98 and it was the biggest waste of $4,000 of her life. She said that all she got was a bunch of Clear Channel and Lite 98 employees coming in and telling her they heard about her on the radio. I personally think that is tantamount to fraud on the part of Clear Channel and Lite 98 radio. She said that the radio station representative Laura also mislead her in terms of the advertising campaign for one month and did not do what it promised. If I were in that situation with Lite 98, I would cancel too. I think it is absolutely deplorable that the account manager of Lite 98 went to her place and threatened her with negative press for cancelling her advertising. Is this really how Lite 98 and Clear Chanel Operates?
You claim you did not have the heart to tell her what you wrote in the blog, buy you sure had a lot of hate in your heart to go post it on your blog. This is the type of hate that Richmond needs to do away with. The world is changing and we need to change with it. We also need to support local businesses, buy local and encourage entrepreneurship. You see, if we don't we will end up giving Virginia and The USA away.
Why not take your 'degree' from Sweetbriar and get another job?' You are spending a lot of time trying to destroy someone else's dream instead of building your own.
I could go on and on and respond to everything in your blog, but I must tell you that I do have a job and must get back to work. Your blog itself shows that you really do not know anything about restaurants and your innuendos and chronic implications is not what Richmond needs right now. Besides, what do you think other companies will think when they learn what you do to their clients after you leave the company? No one will want to hire you because its bad for business.
Daffodil Desserts is a great addition to Richmond nd should not be victimized by a secretary that lost her job.
